All of our servers feature Intel Xeon CPU chips and can accommodate two processors. Our basic servers come standard with one dual or quad core processor but a second chip can be added as your computing requirements increase. Adding CPU chips will require a short period of downtime for installation and will be scheduled to be completed during non-peak usage hours. If you are adding a processor to an existing single processor server, the second processor must match the speed and number of cores of the first processor. You can upgrade a single processor server to a higher speed processor at any time. If you upgrade a dual-processor system, both CPU chips will need to be upgraded at the same time.

The CPU prices listed below are for dedicated systems. CPU speed for virtual systems can be allocated in units as small as 1ghz. See the specific virtual server for costs or speak with your sales representative. Additional CPU capability can be added on-the-fly in any increment for our virtual servers and no downtime will be necessary.
